Charlotte Finnegan
Also known as: Szarlota Mészáros
Born Jan 1, 2006, just after the year turned. Birth name: Szarlota Mészáros; adopted by the Finnegans. Capricorn Sun, Taurus Moon, Capricorn Rising. Heir of Keys / Witch of Chains. Boon of Movement, Hex of Denial. The team's pathfinder — she unlocks spatial barriers and tears shortcuts through the Inter Eos, and inverts that access to trap enemies in looping, repeating pockets of space.
Biography
Charlotte's Claspect governs access itself. At a glance: logistical backbone and route architect for the team, with a discipline for organization that keeps both mundane life and hidden operations from collapsing. Civilian expression: she can open almost any door, identify hidden routes, and find practical entry or escape lines through complex architecture. Locks and barriers read to her like latches waiting to be solved. Her Heir side — the Key, Boon of Movement — lets her unlock spatial barriers: sealed Dominion thresholds, solid walls, and above all the Inter Eos, which she can navigate and open for others far more safely than most. She can teleport over variable distances and open dimensional doorways to other Dominions — the deeper the Dominion, the more effort required. She finds the door where there isn't one. Her Witch side — the Chain, Hex of Denial — inverts this completely. She collapses passage into confinement, manifesting portal-chains and invisible spatial locks that tether movement to fixed points, constrict local gravity, and halt momentum. In its sharpest expression: no door, no wall, just the same three feet of ground, forever. Boon of Movement (passive): while actively engaging a threat, Charlotte's spatial presence partially untethers nearby allies from normal friction, reducing movement penalties from terrain and drag effects. Boon of Movement (active): brief position-swap warp between two allies to pull one from danger or drop a frontliner into opening. Hex of Denial (trigger): forcefully collapsing a spatial rift or snapping a major active chain-link. Hex of Denial (effect): seals a target or zone into a localized loop where attempted movement slams them back to origin under accumulating spatial pressure. Resource model: Spatial Equilibrium and cognitive axis stability. The cost is Spatial Vertigo. Every tear through space disrupts her inner ear — the vestibular system was not built for dimensional shearing. Overuse causes Vestibular Damage and chronic nausea; severe overextension causes desynchronization where her body "lags" against local space.

Shepherd HouseTwo things share this name: the school founded in Seattle in 1915 by Gentle and Charming Shepherd, and the magical team based there today. Both meanings are in active use.

GM Notes
The Vestibular Damage is a hard mechanical ceiling — push it too far and Charlotte becomes a liability rather than an asset. Use it as a session pressure valve: if the team has been leaning heavily on her portals, a vertigo episode at the worst moment is earned and fair. Charlotte's Witch side (the portal-loop trap) is psychologically cruel in a way she may not fully sit with. Being the person who unlocks things and the person who seals people in infinite loops are the same power. That tension is worth exploring. Charlotte has less distinction between Heir and Witch modes than any of the others. Only Eva knows why. Signature move: Deadbolt Tether. Tone line: "Her magic manifests with the heavy, definitive thud of a deadbolt sliding home — the air tasting acrid and bitter like foul wine as the geometry of the room warps and buckles under unseen links."
