Isseya Eldor
Also known as: The Archmage
Archmage of the Pacific Order of the Sidereal Council and head of the Eldor clan. Has held the seat since 1945 — he was in power before Odette Hale ever enrolled at Shepherd House and has watched her entire arc unfold. Now in his final phase of authority, slowly transitioning the seat to his daughter Elya. His 78+ years at the head of the Pacific Order by story start (2023) make him an institution unto himself.

The Sidereal CouncilThe governing body of magical practitioners — also called the General Council. Establishes magical law, dispenses justice, and maintains the formal hierarchy of the magical world. Structured into regional Orders; the Pacific Order covers the Pacific Northwest and is currently headed by Archmage Isseya Eldor. Odette Hale was a member before her banishment; Eric Murray is a legacy member.

Isseya has been the Archmage of the Pacific Order since 1945 — long enough that "the Archmage" and "Isseya Eldor" are synonymous to most Council members in the Pacific Northwest. The Pacific Order covers the Pacific Northwest region. He has presided over Odette's banishment, the Council schism after Eric's elopement, and everything in between. His longevity raises questions: is he simply long-lived as homo magi go, or is something else sustaining him? His relationship to the Murray family is layered. Eric was to marry Elya — an arranged match that Anne Murray negotiated. Eric's elopement with Vera was not just a personal slight but a political breach. Whether Isseya holds a grudge, has moved past it, or is quietly using it as leverage is an open character question. The transition to Elya is underway but not complete. Isseya may be more present in the story than expected — a very old man who has seen everything and is not yet done.
